Time to Star 2 will be out soon

3 09 2014

Beta testing will be out in around 3 days. The alpha testing team reviewed that this game will be VERY different from TTS1.
And has extra bold caption that “Do not use TTS1 mindset to play TTS2!!”
Plus, TTS2 looks way harder than TTS1, from a review that you need to know what the guy thinks. In TTS1, eat with him, or have activities with him will increase love points anyway. Especially, your childhood friend in TTS1, too easy! And OMG, 42 clothes, 26 head accessories/headgear, 93 collections!! *Spurts blood* Although I have no idea what collections, maybe not something to wear. But the clothes and accessories is definitely way more than you have in MSN3.

I’m now playing a free(free for official release also) SRPG Demo game from 66rpg called “The Ballad of Officer” After playing for a day, I think it is very well made, it has some minor control problems though, like I find it very awkward to need to click the walk button every character’s turn in battle, in most SRPG, you just need to click the field to walk directly, but it may also be the limitations of RPG Maker VX Ace. The amount of text of an item or technique etc. makes my eyes hurt a bit(can turn off but I need to read it too). The Demo game should be at least until the end of first chapter so there should be quite a few hours of play time(intro post listed 4-5 hours).

In field, walking is a bit stutted, not sure if it’s my PC problem or what. It’s a bit of problem walking with mouse and click on things to pick up. Also, the active bar in battle is great but there’s a problem that there are always multiple enemies that has the same sprite, you have no idea Soldier A or Soldier B is the next turn. Also, I find it a problem that I always need to cancel(right click) the menu to go back a step in battle. It would be good if it’ll auto-cancel when I click outside(this may be a limitation to the RPG Maker also).

I like that for boss battles, you’ll be given strategy option at the start of the battle which will induce effects. Like the first boss battle, you’ll be up against a lot of enemies with only 2 teammates to fight.
So, strategy option is that you fight with all your might or kill the boss first. I choose kill boss, and it boosts my agi and mov(I think). Also, after that, there are options that stumped me like it ask me if I should let the guy go with me or not. I’m personally afraid he’s a backstabbing guy. I choose to be silent and he still go with me anyway lol.

You have 5 skillsets. Sword, Lance, Gun, Medic and the special Politics(which is actually buffing skillsets I think) and the last one is special skill only available to that character. You have HP, TP that won’t regenerate, and SP which regenerates but varies with person.

I almost feels like wanting to skip the first battle tutorial. Almost all tutorials explained in the first battle. Too many words for everything. And I’m always lazy reading tutorials.

Also, I don’t know why the author feel the need to put character audio for battle reaction. I think it ruins the game a bit cause the voice over is not clear(some are very soft, some are louder). The audio is in Japanese. But it can be turned off so I turned in off.

The main character looks like a girl…my one and only comment for the main chara. 😄

Also, I applauded that this game works really well with no need to mess with around with my language settings.
The game is in Traditional Chinese but I’m using a Simplified Chinese system(ok, I’m actually using English system but set the non-unicode to Simplified Chinese) with no need to change it to Traditional Chinese like other RPG Maker games in the past. Big points for it that it can work out of the box with no need to install other RTP Resources, fonts, etc…

Get the game here(and also see screenshots of game, yeah I’m lazy to post pictures here):

Also, someone asked about the Sherlock Gintama Game:
It is On hold for a while cause the artist is busy with her assignments in Japan that she really has no time for the doujin yet. The last msg about this game is this from July 29 2014, also the developer released some in game backgrounds as apologies. I posted the picture at the comments in the original post:

I personally have confidence in the release of this game cause the developer Yetu has a good track record and release the other games quite timely. In fact, I haven’t really blogged about the other games they are doing yet(I haven’t read in ages though so need time to browse through). Other than The Liars and Price which I have blogged, they are currently doing a Otome doujin game 尘沙惑. It is an Otome game about pursuing Monks!! I’m not sure if you are really pursuing bald monks or not, from the pictures released, the developer posted bald and not bald ones as comparison. Also, it will be a paid game but the drawings quality are really top notch and as good as any paid visual novel games with talented voice actors, in fact, one of the characters are drawn based on a voice actor that the artist really likes, even before the developer managed to ask that voice actor, the artist already completed it.

A lot of pictures, videos, music & other stuff of this Sherlock Gintama game was released already, which I think at least more than 50% of chapter one is already done, so abandonment is not really likely plus Yetu is pretty much alive all this while(just doing other game right now). Also, Yetu released a small momo game of Watson Hijitaka during April this year which you touch him with mouse and he reacts and talks…and he look at your mouse eerily lol.
